Official Member of the 30 Club

So on Saturday I became an official member of the 30 Club or should I say Club 30. For some reason everyone makes a big deal about turning 30, so there was a lot of anticipation, but not much change. But, I will have to say that my 30's are going to be the best years of my life, especially this year. What could be better than your husband graduating from law school?
This was probably my best birthday yet. My mom was in town so we decided to take a trip to Kansas City for a few days. The first day we went the best outlet mall. It has almost every store you could ever want to shop at and we hit an amazing sale at GAP. We also ate at a great burger place called 5 Guys. They had the best fries. That night we ate at the best bbq place in Kansas City, but I can't remember what it's called. One thing I do know is that they had the best chocolate lava cake ever!!! Seriously, it was to die for. The next day we went to the Plaza where they were having an art festival with over 250 booths and amazing shopping. It was a great weekend and an even better birthday. Dan and Hollyn got me a new computer, the Apple MacBook Pro. I never thought I would be a Mac, but think I'm in love. I love everything about it. My mom took me on a little shopping spree and my brother got me Nike workout capris. My three favorite things. Not to mention the generous gifts from my grandpa and mother and father-in-law.

Apple Orchard

Recently we went to an apple orchard with our friends. I'm not sure if Hollyn was more excited to pick apples or just spend an afternoon with her friend. The apples were delicious and the orchard was beautiful. One of my favorite things about living here in Nebraska is doing things that we never would have done in Arizona. Plus there is something about picking apples straight from the tree that make them taste so much better.

Apple Jack Festival

We took our last trip to Nebraska City for the annual Apple Jack Festival. This year we had a big group to share the fun with. The parade was great with lots of bands, fire trucks and old men riding little cars. The kids loved it! Especially the candy. What's a parade without candy. After the parade we headed over to an apple orchard for apples and a craft fair. On the way home we stopped off at a little mom and pop dinner some friends of ours discovered our first year. They have great burgers, onion rings and shakes but don't expect the old lady to smile at you.

Paigey walking

Sorry it's a little shaky, but here is Paige walking and blowing kisses.

Paigey walking

So Paige is officially walking. She still stumbles and falls after taking several steps, but she is getting pretty good at it. She is so funny to watch because she is still so wobbly. Paige gets into everything and loves to explore every cupboard and drawer. She is starting to sign more words and she says a few too. Here is what our Paigey can do,
Say Mom and Dad, hi and she has the fluctuation for go and dog
She can sign please, milk, all done, dog, bye, and she just started to blow kisses.
We love our little Paige.

Back Home and 3L's

Now that I am done updating our blog I can get to the now. We are back in Nebraska and officially 3L's. Meaning Dan is in his final year of law school. I can't believe it's actually here. It has gone by so fast and there are so many things I want to do here before May. I have really fallen in love with Lincoln and especially Fall here. I love the farmers markets, pumpkin patches, festivals, and apple orchards. We took the girls to our annual trip to the Omaha Zoo. It's a fabulous zoo with so many great exhibits. Our favorite is still the gorillas. Hollyn also started preschool last week. We decided to keep Hollyn at the same preschool but she is now mornings and has a new teacher, Mrs. Kiera. She loves school and especially loves being one of the oldest in her class. We are really working on reading and writing at home. It amazes me how quickly children pick up on things. We were at the store yesterday and Hollyn was looking at a shirt and said, "Mom this shirt says cat." Sure enough I look over at the shirt and it had cat spelled out on the front, and not even a picture to help her. I can't wait till she can start reading all those books she has.
