If it acts like a monkey and sounds like a monkey than it's a monkey

We have been having some really great weather, so we decided to head to the zoo with some friends. Hollyn met Olivia our first day at church in Lincoln and they were instant friends. They always have so much fun together and now that we live farther apart we don't see them as often, but you wouldn't know it from looking at them. Paige loved the zoo, especially the monkeys and goats. She was not afraid to get right in their faces. And Hollyn, well she just loved being with her friend Olivia.
Paige also turned 18 months on the 20th and went to her first day of nursery last Sunday. She was a little sad when I left, but only for about 2 seconds and then loved every minute of it. I think Dan and I are way more excited than she is about nursery.

10 K

Last Saturday I ran a 10 K with my friend Anna. It was a beautiful day and a fantastic race. The race was mostly around a lake and neighborhoods. It was really pretty with spring in full bloom. I did much better than I thought I would. I actually ran less than an 8 minute mile. Not bad for training on a boring treadmill. I was also surprised to find out that I was fourth in my age group, and yes it was the 30-39 group, but I will say there were more than 80 in my age group. I won't mention the fact that I almost collapsed at the finish line. Good thing Dan didn't get any picture of my crossing the finish line. It wouldn't have been a pretty picture.

Easter

Before Easter we did a little Easter Egg hunt with some friends. It was a beautiful day, with the perfect weather for hunting for eggs. The kids loved finding the eggs, but even more eating all of their candy. And we mom's loved that we didn't have to chase kids around a park. Thanks for hosting Anna and thanks for the adorable pictures. We also went to see the Easter Bunny. Hollyn was supper excited to meet her and take a picture with her. Paige on the other hand was scared to death. She kept walking by the Easter Bunny but keeping a ten foot perimeter. Hollyn was determined to get Paige to go closer.

For Easter this year we were lucky to have Dan's dad come into town to visit. We always have a great time when Papa Charlie comes to visit. I made some cheesy potatoes, ham(my first), carrots, rolls and salad. It turned out delicious! The Easter Bunny just happen to come and visit too. She hid some eggs around the house, and left the girls with a little treat, and surprise. The girls had a great time. Hollyn and Paige were both into finding the eggs until Paige realized the eggs already in her basket had jelly beans in them and decided she would rather eat jelly beans than find eggs. Who could blame her. The kids had a great day eating candy and napping and us adults were lucky to be able to watch as much conference than we did. Someday I will be able to listen to every session without interruptions. What I did hear was amazing as always and needless to say I have much to work on.

Easter Outfits

Since Easter Sunday is General Conference, the girls got to wear their Easter outfits last Sunday. Hollyn was so excited to wear her new skirt and sweater, thanks Grandma. They were perfect! Hollyn loves to strike a pose and she is all girl from head to toes. Paige just loves spinning around and being with her big sister.
