For Memorial Day we had Dan's parents and sister and her family over for a BBQ and swim. The kids had a great time, the food was delicious and the company was even better. We even made a cake for Noni, because she retired this year from teaching school. Yah Noni!
Hollyn decided that she wanted to paint her table black and the chairs hot pink. We were able to get the table finished, but are still searching for the right color for the chairs. Hollyn had a great time painting and Paige had a fantastic time touching the wet paint and rubbing it all over her stomach and face. The kids have also been earning money this summer and were able to buy something fun. Hollyn choose Legos. She has really gotten into Legos this summer and it has been nice to have her into something other than Barbies and Polly Pockets. Paige got a Cozy Coupe car and hasn't stop playing with it since we got it.
Mostly we have been swimming, swimming and more swimming. Between me teaching swimming lessons, the girls taking lessons from Grandma, and just swimming for fun we practically live in the pool. Paige is such a crazy kid. She has no fear, which scares the heck out of me. She jumps in the pool, swims on the step and can turn around and grab the wall. Hollyn is doing great on all of her strokes and has finally got her dive down. I think next year we are going to try swim team.
