Our family did our first Pat's Run and we loved it! It definitely is the most crowded run I have ever done, but I loved that they had a kid's run and so many things for the family to do. I did learn some valuable lessons 1. don't run with a stroller, it's way too crowded to get through everyone 2. don't break your jogging stroller 15 minutes before the race (right before we got to the race the front tire of the jogging stroller busted and so needless to say I was jogging 4.2 miles on a wheely) I do have to say that Dan did offer a bunch of times to jog with it. 3. Skip the soccer game after the game and enjoy booths at the race. Thanks Lisa and Jeremy for talking us into signing up. It was great to run it together.

Queen Creek Rode
Back in March we went to the Queen Creek Rodeo with Dan's family. It was actually really fun. I loved dressing the girls up in the boots and kind of rodeo clothes, as rodeo as we get. I realized that I need me some cowgirl boots. I actually may be a country girl at heart, as long as it's only for a few days out of the year. Before the rodeo there was a little carnival with rides and games and Paige's first pony ride. She loved every moment of it and couldn't stop saying YEEHAA!! I also took the girls on their first ferris wheel. I was terrified and not of the ride itself, but of Paige falling out the ride. I actually am surprised they let her ride on it in the first place, she could have slipped right under the bars. Maybe I should be more surprised that I let her ride on it. Before the actual rodeo we listed to the cutest band of three sisters called Fire Flies. They were adorable red headed sisters and they were really good too. The rodeo was really great and it makes you proud to be an American. I mean what can be more American than a rodeo with cowboys and cowgirls.

Hip Hop Recital
Holls has been taking a hip hop class with her cousins. They love to dance, and have loved learning all of their new hip hop moves, including the ice cream scoop, cleaning the table, I have a fever and a few more I can't remember. They did a little mid session performance for all the parents to show us what they have learned. Here's a little preview. The dancers.
The ice cream scoop.
Push ups. I'm surprised she could do real pushups.

Spring Break
For Spring Break this year we headed over to Oceanside, Ca for the week. Were able to be there at the same time as my parents, Dan's mom and my sister-in-law and her three girls. The weather was beautiful, the company was great, and the girls had a blast playing together. There's nothing better than seeing your kids playing with their friends and family at the beach.
One of my favorite things besides going to the beach is the farmer's market in Oceanside. The produce is spectacular, the music is entertaining, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is so much fun. This year we found the best dipping sauce. It's similar to hummus, but so much better.

At the end of our trip we always have to have a shake in the middle of the ocean. It's actually a shake at Ruby's Dinner at the end of the pier, but the kids think it's the greatest thing ever. At we left at the perfect day, right when it started getting cold. Can't wait to go back this summer!

Soccer Time!!

Hollyn started soccer for the first time a few months ago, and I volunteered to coach. I may have played lots of sports growing up, but soccer was not one of them. Let's just say I don't know anything about soccer, but the good news is neither do the girls. It's been a fun season so far, and most importantly the girls are loving it and they are really improving. It's been so much fun watching Hollyn play a sport and to improve each game. I can't wait to watch her next season when I'm not coaching. I have enjoyed coaching, but soccer is not my forte. The best part of soccer is the cute uniforms the girls get to wear, pink jerseys and pink socks, what could be better? And the girls even named themselves the flamingos and they even do a little flamingo dance. It's so stinkin' cute, I'll have to get a video of it. Go Flamingos!
Look at that concentration! Hollyn and her cousin Kate

My Paigey is growing up!!
So about a month or two ago we decided that it was time for Paige to give up the binkey. I'm pretty sure I had a harder time than she did giving them up. When I was taking the pictures, I'm not going to lie, I had a little a tear in my eye. We made a deal with Paige that if she gave Dan her binkies he would buy her a Rapunzel doll. This is her giving up the binkies.
And this is the big reward, RAPUNZEL!!
We had a few rough nights and naps without the binky, but after a few days she didn't even ask for them anymore. About a week later Paige decided she was done wearing diapers and she was ready to wear panties full time. There was not going back, she was full force and I was so surprised how well she did. She didn't really have any accidents either. So, the Broadbent family is done with diapers and we couldn't be happier. We are so proud of our big girl Paige!

Daddy Daughter Dance
When we moved to Lincoln we started a tradition of Dan taking Hollyn to the Daddy Daughter Dance at our gym. Hollyn loved dressing up and then being able to pick out her dad's tie. She also loved having that special time with her dad. This was our first year doing it here in Arizona and it was also Paige's first time going. From the day I signed up the girls at our gym, Paige couldn't stop talking about going to the "Datty Dotter Donce." When the day finally arrived both girls were so excited. They got all dressed up, and picked out their Dad's tie to match them perfectly. This dance was pretty amazing! They had a catered dinner, a horse drawn carriage ride, crafts, pictures, dancing with a DJ, and a craft. The girls had such a fantastic time, and Dan well he loved spending time with the girls but he was pretty worn out, especially from chasing Paige. This will definitely be a tradition we will be keeping. Aren't they the cutest!
